Mairead holds a Masters degree from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in somatic counseling and dance/movement therapy. She utilizes talk therapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches and trauma reprocessing techniques in her therapeutic work with clients.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Mairead Jacobs Dougherty, MA, LPC, R-DMT Mairead (she/her/hers) is a licensed counselor and somatic therapist who specializes in therapy for anxiety, depression, burnout and trauma/PTSD. Mairead is a disability rights advocate and an activist for chronic illness and neurodiverse populations. As someone who has lived with chronic illness, Mairead understands the ins and outs of how this can impact a person and their loved ones. Mairead works to dismantle ableism and help individuals learn to cope with their circumstances and heal trauma. Mairead's training can support individuals in connecting to their body, working with unprocessed material, improving relationships, and locating their sense of meaning and empowerment. Mairead lives in Denver, Colorado. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, cooking, and listening to all types of music. Mairead also loves to travel and can be found offering sessions remotely from beautiful destinations like Hawaii and Portugal!</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Rise Wellness Center offers group counseling opportunities for children and adults in Colorado. Group therapy can be great in conjunction with personal therapy and for individuals who are looking for accountability and support. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about yourself and others, improve communication skills, build relationships, and feel connected and empowered.
